Meet our Pastor

Heading 1

Mary Williams joined the congregation of First Congregational in July of 2017.  She had moved to Pueblo and in looking for a new church, found her way to First.  The next two and a half years were full of the excitement of being asked to do pulpit supply and then to be called as the pastor of the congregation in January of 2019.  In September of 2019, Mary was formally installed as the pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Mary began her education at Western State College in Gunnison.  She also was a founder and performer in a children's theater group, the Storytellers.  After that, she moved to Tucson, Arizona, attended the University of Arizona and finally finished her BA in English Literature at Metropolitan State University.  Following that, she earned her Master of Divinity at Iliff School of Theology in Denver.

Before becoming a pastor, Mary had been a teacher/director of a cooperative pre-school in Denver, worked with exceptional children in Jefferson County Schools and is now, in addition to her pastoral work at First Congregational, participates in Bible time with our preschool children each week.

Mary's strong call to parish ministry has always been, and continues to be, her priority and she is looking forward to the future with the people of First Congregational as together they continue doing God's work in the world.
